Ludonarrative Dissonance In Simulationist Logic 01: Teleporting Items In RPGs

First things first; considering there is an easy to use, easy to find script in Ace that solves this immediately obliterates this as an obstacle for the modern RPG Maker.

Um...please link good sir.

In the mean time... *?edits out offer of 20 bucks to make this script?*

okay suckahs give me yo games

I literally cannot explain why I don't like RMXP. That's why I never talk about it being bad or anything. But every game I have ever played in it has looked at least slightly bad or wrong to me somehow visually, specifically the way the characters have moved around the tileset maps. I think it might have something to do with the resolution. I honestly don't know. There is also the fact that on several computers I have literally been unable to load RMXP games without them crashing while other games have run without a hitch. I cannot remember if this computer has that problem.

That said, see previously-posted RGSS...

Saw it, looked like a blank array or something? Did not really mean anything to me but I am scriptslexic so...yeah.

This is a dumb question, but how difficult would it be to write an RGSSS3 script that takes away all of the player's items and 'remembers' them with one script call, and can give all the "memorized" items back to them with another script call. Possibly with like two to four different slots for 'memorizing' items that can be chosen in the script call?

I will pay someone $10.00-$20.00 to write this exact script for me.

0) I am opening myself up to suggestions of games to play. The more suggestions, the merrier. Suggest your stuff or someone else's. Just drop a link in the thread.

1) I'm only going to play games I feel like playing. I feel like playing VX Ace games more than VX games, VX games more than RM2k3 games, RM2k3 games more than RM2k games, RM2k games more than games made in other engines, and games made in other engines more than RMXP games, but I really might play any game regardless of what engine it's made in. I feel like playing RPGs more than non-RPGs but I am still happy to play non-RPGs if they look interesting. As for my actual tastes in games, all y'all should have a pretty good general idea of that by now.

2) I'm not going to play any games I don't feel like playing.

2.5) I don't promise I'm going to play ALL of anything. I'm trying to hit a lot of games here so if you hit me up with a 30 hour epic, I'm probably only going to play it for a couple hours max before I move on. If it's good I'll try to come back to it later.

3) I'm going to post reviews of the games I play. These reviews will be shorter than my usual reviews, but they won't be too short.

4) There is no limit on the number of requests I'll consider, subordinate to rules #1 and #2. So go nuts.

5) I am accepting requests from now until December 21st when requests will close

6) I am going to play these games in whatever order I feel like playing them in. I am not going to respond meaningfully to every game suggestion, certainly not with a 'yea' or 'nay'. As a rule, you will not know if I am going to play your game or not until I either play it or don't.

-RESULTS-

So at close of event, that's 11 requests fulfilled (10 if you don't count Space Dolphin) in a little over two weeks. Not bad.

RMN PLAYS

GRRR and also ARRRRGH I just realized the game I was playing is not ON RMN and therefore not worth any points.

thanks a LOT obama

LIBERTY I am calling you out I want to play some of your games I never have you have like a BILLION recommend like three to me

Americana Dawn

The developers needing nearly 50k within 17 days is disconcerting..

From personal experience, Kickstarters do about 25% of their funding in the first 48 hours, about 35% in the last 48 hours, and the remaining 40% in the loooooonnnng slow middle in between.

[VX Ace] Quick Question

oh dude I know...I'm not plugged into the SR online community cuz reasons but I have been in the past. as a writer for CGL I was a minor celebrity there. I could probably have written for SRR or SRO too, but passed because I was busy with my own stuff.

the truth is...like...the number of people who play the shadowrun tabletop game that I see online is actually VASTLY greater than the number of people I see online who remember the Shadowrun SNES game. so yeah...people who care about the SNES Shadowrun game are actually rarer in my circles than people who are obsessed with the tabletop game, like me.

anyway i was just excited lol. if you don't know shit or care about the shadowrun tabletop game that's fine. i just couldn't help but inform you that i took the character you have chosen for your avatar and rewrote him into canon because i thought if nothing else that was remarkable.

Can we talk about the Mike Brown/Eric Garner/etc situation?

Solitayre you like most social justice warriors have a nasty habit of arguing against positions I did not fucking take.

There's personal racism, where individuals hate someone because of ethnic or racial bias. It can cause someone to hate black people or someone to hate white people or write a blog on the internet about why white people are evil or black people are criminals. Or brown people, or whatever.

This is kind of racism that arises from a person's personality, their upbringing and education, their personal experiences, etc. This kind of racism will probably always exist, and can't really be controlled without severely Orwellian Borderline "thought-police" measures.

Then, there's institutional racism, which is part of a larger system in which the ways our laws are enforced show racial or ethnic bias. Namely, an unarmed black man being choked to death by a police officer, in broad daylight, on film, and a grand jury says "nothing to see here, move along." Or a 12 year old black kid with a toy gun being shot dead by police while a white man with an assault rifle slung over his shoulder can walk down a street without a care in the world.

This is all 100% accurate. I would even say something like "institutionalized racism is more serious than personal racism". But as I've said before, institutional or systemic racism is not the only evident factor in these disturbing cases of police brutality and excessive force without consequences.

Getting angry because you can prove that people who are racist against whites exist somewhere on the internet strikes me as a fairly useless expenditure of energy.

I was not actually angry that racist tirades like this exist on the internet any more than I'm angry that this charming thing exists (THANKS, tumblr). What made me angry was the colossally stupid assertions that "there is no such thing as racism against white people" (SOMEONE ACTUALLY SAID THIS) and/or that this bullshit somehow doesn't count as racism because...???social???justice??? (hypocrisy).

Getting angry about ANYTHING on the internet is a fairly useless expenditure of energy, though. It's a losing proposition for sure. I just can't always help it.

RPG games where you name and customise the characters

Everything Turns Gray and Mage Duel, which I made, both allow for character naming and customization. Please excuse for promoting my own games, everyone.
